A Web-Based O&M Manuals Solution
| THE FUNDAMENTAL PURPOSE of an O&M Manuals Solution is to provide easy access to the plant O&M manuals and drawings that operations people refer to for efficient operation of the treatment process and to assure regulatory compliance. Rapid access to vendor manuals, equipment schematics, and circuit diagrams is key for maintenance technicians to provide repair of critical equipment on short notice. Now all the reference material required to meet a utility's prime objective of treating wastewater or providing clean, healthy drinking water is available from anywhere on the owner's network. |
For the past several years, ISPA has been providing our UtilityMaestro Solution as the answer to this need.
This O&M Manual Solution incorporates knowledge of web based electronic document solutions and their application to water and wastewater facilities. It allows multiple users to access documents from multiple facilities concurrently through the Internet, or an Intranet, using a standard web browser and document viewers such as Adobe Acrobat? Reader. The typical Utility Maestro implementation includes complete services for the conversion of paper and electronic manuals, installation and training, and system support.

- Via a Folder Structure of facilities' O&M information and plant processes containing links to SOP's, Vendor Manuals, drawings, digital photographs, or even training videos.
- Via Graphical Search. Users start from a graphical rendition of the Plant, then click on a building or process, and access all O&M information for that process, including vendor manuals, SOP's, drawings, etc.
- Via a Document Index Information Search. The user can select from document index criteria such as Location, Equipment Type,
Document Type, Manufacturer, and Model Number. Also, Full Text Search.
| A key feature of ISPA's solution is the extensive use of 'Intelligent' documents. Internal Links and bookmarks provide rapid navigation from Tables of Content to specific sections of documents. Even Vendor Manuals are linked! External Links allow quick access between associated documents. |
Information from a Work Order Management System can be incorporated into the web based O&M Manuals system, allowing users to retrieve documents based on Asset Number, Location Code, Equipment Type, etc.
Document Conversion
The Owner's facilities house a substantial document set of technical manuals and drawings used in the operation and maintenance of the facility. DocMaestro will gather and convert the designated document sets into digital format. For ease of navigation by the user, documents are converted into intelligent electronic documents containing bookmarks and hyperlinks.
